Marek has 25 years of professional experience gained in Polish and international law firms and in the course of cooperation with the largest multinational corporations investing in Poland.
He advises investors in various sectors on starting up and developing their business in Poland, including on the choice of the legal form of the business, investment incentives, and location and financing of the project. He has frequently given advice to investors setting up manufacturing plants and shared service centres in Poland. His area of responsibility also includes the provision of services to the firm’s clients in foreign markets, where he coordinates the support from international law firms cooperating with Wiewiórski Legal. In addition, he renders day-to-day legal services to clients in the area of business law.
Marek specialises in the legal aspects of the development and management of service centres (BPO, SSC, R&D, IT), with a particular focus on matters relating to the establishment of new centres, employment law, state aid and the financing of such centres. He delivers numerous training courses for companies in that sector. Wiewiórski Legal is represented by him in ABSL, the largest Polish association of companies from the modern business service sector.
He is also an experienced negotiator, having conducted a number of negotiations concerning new high-value investment projects, state aid and disputes, with both private and public entities. He has frequently acted for clients in collective disputes and negotiations with trade unions.
Marek has particularly extensive experience in providing legal services to international clients in such sectors as the automotive, household appliances and building materials, pharmaceutical and bio-gen, IT, and banking sector.
He earned his master’s degree in Law from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Wroclaw. He is fluent in English. He co-founded the Global Business Lawyers Alliance and was a member of the alliance’s management board for many years.
Marek has been repeatedly recommended in the most important international legal rankings – Chambers&Partners and Legal 500.
In his spare time, he travels and plans long-distance expeditions for his family and friends, and in winter he enjoys skiing. He is an avid aeroplane pilot with PPL(A) EASA and FAA licences. He loves to fly, improve his flying qualifications and gain new ratings.
