Whistleblowers

Whistleblowers are individuals who report breaches of the law or of the standards in place at the organisation.

At present, all employers with 50 or more employees (as well as some smaller organisations) are required to implement internal procedures setting out the rules for the reporting of breaches by whistleblowers and to define the scope of protection available to whistleblowers.

What we do

We help businesses put in place internal procedures that concern the organisation of the reporting system and the protection of whistleblowers and that set out how the reports should be handled.

We advise on the choice of a special reporting channel that will be optimal for a given organisation. In addition, we suggest practical solutions facilitating the management of that channel.

We develop all documentation that is required by law and supervise its proper implementation, supporting the client, among others, in the course of consultations with employee representatives.

In the case of entities that are part of a larger group of companies, we help tailor global whistleblower policies to local conditions. We provide advice on how to organise a group system for reporting breaches so that it is consistent with Polish regulations.

Our role is that of an external expert that the client can ask for help when a breach is reported by a whistleblower. We provide support in the process of collecting evidence, assist the client in making a proper assessment of the report, and suggest possible follow-up actions that need to be taken after the report has been made.

We offer comprehensive advice to employers on how to ensure that whistleblowers are adequately protected against retaliation, and we act on behalf of employers in any proceedings involving allegations of unlawful retaliation.
