Services for the aviation sector

The aviation industry is as fascinating as it is difficult. It is impossible to provide advisory services in that field without an understanding of the industry-specific jargon and the knowledge of international conventions, EU regulations and the practices of market participants and entities such as IATA, ICAO or the Polish Civil Aviation Authority (ULC).

Our lawyers have many years of experience in supporting carriers, airports, handlers and airline service centres.

What we do

We provide comprehensive legal advice to airlines and other aviation industry entities on all aspects of their operations on the Polish market.

We represent airlines in proceedings before the President of the Civil Aviation Authority, including proceedings to obtain relevant permits. Moreover, we act for our clients in common courts and at the pre-litigation stage in cases concerning passenger compensation under Regulation 261/2004 and the Montreal Convention. We offer advice with respect to airlines’ relations with other authorities and regulators, including in proceedings conducted by the Border Guard and the Border Sanitary and Epidemiological Inspectorate and in proceedings concerning environmental fees.

We render legal services to airlines regarding their dealings with airports, handling agents, sales agents and other entities.

In addition, we assist airports in projects concerning commercial space lease, construction projects and court litigation. We handle matters relating to day-to-day operations of airports – contracts, employment law, issues regarding trade unions and GDPR.

We cooperate with service providers working for the aviation sector – handling agents for the ground handling of aircraft, passengers and baggage, maintenance and continuing airworthiness management organisations, as well as training organisations. We have extensive experience of general aviation regulations, and the Managing Partner of Wiewiórski Legal, who holds a private pilot licence PPL(A), knows the industry both as a practitioner and advisor.

We also specialise in work for the leading airlines’ customer service centres in Poland – we provide comprehensive support to service centres in all areas of their operations, in particular with regard to employment law, immigration issues, GDPR and the use of IT systems specific to passenger services.
